Zweck der Stiftung ist die finanzielle und ideelle Förderung von Bildung und Forschung
zu Naturkunde, Naturwissenschaft und Nachhaltigkeit, die Förderung der Erziehung,
Volks- und Berufsbildung einschließlich der Studierendenhilfe (§ 52 II Nr. 7 AO),
insbesondere die Förderung der außerschulischen internationalen naturwissenschaftlichen Jugendhilfe, die Unterstützung der Beschäftigung Jugendlicher und Erwachsener mit Naturkunde, Naturwissenschaften und Nachhaltigkeit.

The purpose of the Foundation is to provide financial and non-material support for education and research in the fields of natural history, natural sciences and sustainability; to promote education, adult education and vocational training, including student support (Section 52(2)(7) of the German Fiscal Code); in particular, to promote extracurricular internationalwelfare programmes in the natural sciences for young people; and to encourage young people and adults to engage with natural history, natural sciences and sustainability.

Verwirklichung des Stiftungszwecks

  • durch die Entwicklung von Lehrmitteln (fachdidaktische Arbeit) und Bereitstellung von Inhalten und Lernmaterial auf digitalen Lernplattformen und in anderen Medien, Datenhosting und Datenkuratierung,
  • durch ggf. eigene Forschungen und Entwicklungen, z.B. zu Themen der gesellschaftlichen Relevanz und kulturellen Einbindung von Naturwissenschaft und Naturkunde
  • finanzielle und ideelle Unterstützung von naturwissenschaftlichen Jugendverbänden, Vereinen, kleineren Gruppen und auch einzelnen hilfsbedürftigen Jugendlichen i.S.d. § 53 Abgabenordnung (AO)
  • Ermöglichung des internationalen Austauschs, insbesondere in bi- und multinationalen Projekten
  • finanzielle und ideelle Unterstützung der Fortbildung von Lehrkräften (schulisch und außerschulisch)
  • Forschung und Entwicklung im Sinne des Stiftungszwecks (insbes. Fachdidaktiken der MINT-Fächer, Erwachsenenpädagogik…). Die Forschungsergebnisse müssen zeitnah veröffentlicht werden.

Implementation

  • through the development of teaching materials (subject-specific pedagogy) and the provision of content and learning materials on digital learning platforms and in other media, data hosting and data curation,
  • through its own research and development, where appropriate, for example on topics relating to the social relevance and cultural integration of the natural sciences and natural history
  • Financial and non-material support for science-promoting youth organisations, associations, smaller groups and also individual young people in need within the meaning of Section 53 of the German Tax Code (AO).
  • Facilitating international exchange, particularly in bilateral and multinational projects
  • Financial and non-material support for the further training of teachers (school and extracurricular)
  • Research and development in line with the foundation’s purpose (in particular subject-specific teaching methods for STEM subjects, adult education, etc.). The research results must be published in a timely manner.
