Youth Camps on space and astronomy topics

International Astronomical Youth Camp (IAYC)

The IAYC is an English-speaking international gathering of young people interested in astronomy and space topics. It has been organised annually since 1969 by young astronomers (students) for the target group aged between 16 to 26 years.

Stiftung FNJE and its predecessor FNJ e.V. have continuously supported these activities by mentoring the organisers, participating in organisation, and acquiring financial support in cases when the camp was held in Germany.

Astronomisches Sommerlager (ASL)

Following a successful summer camp on the occasion of the solar eclipse 1999 in southern Germany, we supported annual summer camps organised by the VdS-Jugendreferat (called VEGA e.V. since 2004). “VdS” stands for “Vereinigung der Sternfreunde”, the transregional German association of amateur astronomers.
